Game Changing Inspiration – Wolfram

This weekend I was reading through some tech articles online trying to keep myself abreast of the latest and greatest in the tech world. I started to read about Dr. Stephen Wolfram, Wolfram|Alpha – An invention that could change the internet forever. It’s touted as the program that will be more significant than Google. What a bold statement.
From the Independent Article:
What the experts say
“For those of us tired of hundreds of pages of results that do not really have a lot to do with what we are trying to find out, Wolfram Alpha may be what we have been waiting for.”
Michael W Jones, Tech.blorge.com
“If it is not gobbled up by one of the industry superpowers, his company may well grow to become one of them in a small number of years, with most of us setting our default browser to be Wolfram Alpha.”
Doug Lenat, Semanticuniverse.com
“It’s like plugging into an electric brain.”
Matt Marshall, Venturebeat.com
“This is like a Holy Grail… the ability to look inside data sources that can’t easily be crawled and provide answers from them.”
Danny Sullivan, editor-in-chief of searchengineland.com
This got me excited to see that even in the toughest of times people are still thinking big and being smart. This morning I am oozing optimism and feel genuinely inspired to do great things. Barriers seemed to be cleared out of the way and preconceived notions just simply, aren’t there. Now I’m not saying that Wolfram is going to be a great success or that Google doesn’t have it covered. In fact, there is most likely some 14 year old kid in his basement making something that we can’t even conceive that will bury both of them. But that’s not important this morning.
The important thing is that that kid exists and people are continuing to think, dream, and execute BIG. When this happens, the world wins. The world unites, problems become opportunities, inspiration and ideas come to those who never thought they could succeed and the game changes.
How are you changing the game?
