This picture reminded me of the story of Jim Stockdale. If you haven’t read the book Good to Great by Jim Collins, I suggest you do. At the very least read the chapter on the “Stockdale Paradox”. Pretty inspiring stuff.
“He finally made it!”
In Love and War by Jim and Sybil Stockdale
Jim Stockdale teaches us that freedom is a state of mind and that the two greatest weapons of enslavement are guilt and fear, not bars and walls.

Happy Holidays, It’s been awhile…

Wow, its been a long time since I last wrote on this here blog of ours. A lot has happened since last May. The economy is in the crapper, we have a new President elect and professional athletes are shooting themselves in the foot (leg), literally. Also, we have hit our 1 year mark as a company and learned a hell of a lot. Some lessons the hard way and some the easy way.
- Lesson 1: Tap into the neighborhood you work in
- Lesson 2: Plan plan plan and then plan some more
- Lesson 3: Communication is key
- Lesson 4: Know your limitations and passions and delegate the rest if you can. I certainly realized why I am not an accountant or a lawyer.
- Lesson 5: Consume as much knowledge as possible and APPLY IT!! I feel great after reading so many inspiring blogs and books but that’s the easy part. If you don’t apply it then you wasted your time
- Lesson 6: Get opinions, good, bad, and especially the ugly. They are extremely valuable
Looking ahead in year 2 is very exciting for us. There are several things that we want to accomplish and work on. We have been fortunate to have worked with such great companies in industries from real estate to travel technologies. We have certainly pushed our limits as technology professionals and continue to learn.
Stay tuned more to come. Hopefully it won’t be another 7 months.
I’d like to introduce….

Our Xgineer’s. I’m looking over our site today and it occurred to me that the Senor y Senora Internet don’t really know us.
Here’s the quick and dirty. We are basically made up of 3 extremely capable developer/designer/technical folk (Adam, Leo and Chris) and one non-technical wannabe (Me). Adam and Leo started this company last summer as an excuse to not join the old corporate world. “It’s way more fun when we can call the shots.”

another tough Friday for Chris and Adam
I was lucky enough to get in contact with them through my roommate at the time, Mr. Dan Carr. I had come from a technical recruiting background and realized I wanted to get more involved in technology’s inner workings. Though I had felt like I had a grasp of how software projects work, there was no way I was getting a PM or BA position with my credentials.
This was a perfect opportunity to learn the technical skills I wanted while still keeping up on my business development and management roles. It was a perfect match.
A few months later we land a couple really great projects and we’re able to bring on Chris as our new software Xgineer. He’s been getting his hands dirty from day 1 and we’re excited to see what he can do.
